Beginning in 1923 with the completion of the original Don Pedro Dam and powerhouse, TID has been providing safe, reliable and affordable electric power to our customers.

When we completed that first generation facility at the original Don Pedro Dam, we had a decision to make; sell the resulting electricity to other utilities or, provide it to residents of our area in a not-for-profit model.

The decision to provide electric service to the residents of our territory as a not-for-profit, community owned entity has proven to be a fateful one. Our customers enjoy safe, reliable and affordable power today thanks to the foresight of a decision made all those years ago.
