TID is partnering with The Greenery, in Turlock, to assist our customers in reducing their energy costs and creating a healthy environment with our Premier Shade Tree Program.
Did you know deciduous trees can help conserve energy in your home? In addition to providing shade to help keep a home cooler in the summer, they also allow the sun’s warm rays to heat your home in the winter. Properly planted deciduous trees can cut air conditioning costs by 15-30 percent, in addition to the benefits for clean air—providing oxygen and reducing pollution.
Between August 15, 2026 and August 31, 2026 (while supplies last), TID will be accepting online applications to reserve your shade tree kit for future pickup at The Greenery Nursery and Garden Shop. To reserve your tree, simply fill out the Premier Shade Tree application, pay $40.00 per tree (limit 2 per account) via the Paypal link at checkout and you will receive a voucher and receipt in the mail to take to The Greenery Nursery and Garden Shop any day Saturday, September 11, 2026 through Sunday, September 20, 2026 to pick up your tree kit*.
