Total Channel Control
TID has commissioned, Rubicon Water (Rubicon) to install and pilot a Rubicon Total Channel Control (TCC) system on a stretch of the Ceres Main Canal from south of Keyes Road to Harding Road. The Rubicon TCC system will replace all manually operated gates in the canal pilot stretch, both side gates and drop structure gates, with automated Rubicon gates. These gates will open and close at scheduled irrigation times to maintain consistent and reliable flows to customers throughout their irrigations. The Rubicon TCC system will also allow for more dynamic customer delivery scheduling while simultaneously preventing loss of water to operational spills. The project will improve 10 drop structures and 68 side gates serving 296 parcels totaling over 7,000 acres. The Rubicon TCC system will include a pilot of Rubicon’s NeuroFlo online ordering and scheduling software, which will assist customers and TID operators in scheduling orders. The software will also provide real-time information and control capabilities, allowing the District to better meet customer needs.
