What is electrification?

Electrification refers to replacing technologies that use natural gas or propane with alternatives powered by electricity. For example, switching to an electric heat pump for heating/cooling, using induction cooktops, replacing gas water heaters with heat pump water heaters, or installing electric clothes dryers.
