On January 18, the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) provided comments on the Turlock Subbasin’s Groundwater Sustainability Plan (GSP) following a two-year review period. The Turlock Subbasin’s GSP was determined to be incomplete by DWR and is required to be revised within 180 days.

This week the California Natural Resources Agency announced that the Modesto and Turlock irrigation districts (MID and TID) and our Tuolumne River partner San Francisco Public Utilities Commission signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to advance the Tuolumne River Voluntary Agreement. The state also released the Tuolumne River-specific term sheet which includes details on proposed river flow and habitat restoration efforts.

On August 18, 2023, the Turlock Irrigation District (TID) completed the construction of the Ceres Main Regulating Reservoir.

The Tuolumne River Watershed and the TID service area are expected to see additional precipitation over the next few weeks, and the District has taken the steps necessary to be equipped to receive it.
