Energy theft is a crime and can create deadly safety hazards for both the criminals and innocent bystanders. And since TID is owned by our customers, when theft occurs it’s actually a crime against all customers.

If you suspect or know someone is stealing water or electricity, please help yourself and your neighbors by reporting it:

  • Call our Energy Theft Hotline at (209) 883-3444
  • To report energy theft by mail, see the instructions at the bottom of this page.

In all cases, you can remain anonymous and all information received will be kept confidential.
