How to Read Your Bill

Your name - acct number and TID contact infoYour name, account number and the date the bill was issued are located in the upper left corner of the bill and contact information for TID is in the right corner.

Your TID Account DetailsThe details of your TID account including; billing month, service type, location description where service is provided and your rate schedule.

Amount due and usage tableThis section shows the amount due, the due date and a table comparing electricity usage for the current month, the previous month and  the same month last year.

Your meter dataThis is your meter data. Each meter has a number and is read every month. The previous read is deducted from the current read to calculate the difference. The difference is then multiplied by the multiplier to determine the amount of killowatt-hours consumed. (an “est” after a reading indicates the meter was unable to be read so an estimate based on historical consumption was used. An “info only” after a read means this reading is for informational purposes only and not for billing purposes.

Electric Service charges and creditsThis is a list of the electric service charges and credits that make up you bill. This includes information such as your prior balance and payments. The back of the bill gives an explanation of these charges/credits. Residential rate schedules are billed in tiers. therefore you may see multiple line items for energy use.

The total amount due on this account at the time the statement was issued.

Payment CouponThe portion of your bill you should return with your payment.
