Shade Tree Rebate Program

The Turlock Irrigation District (TID) would like to help you lower your electric bills, benefit the environment and add to the beauty of your home.  Select, plant and care for a shade tree and your home will be cooler and more comfortable during the summer.

Reasons to Plant Trees

There are many reasons to plant trees, including:

Trees conserve energy during warmer months and save you money.  Properly planted and placed trees can cut your air conditioning costs by 15 to 30 percent.

Trees help to clean the air, provide oxygen and reduce pollution.

Mature trees help conserve energy in the winter by slowing cold winds, which can result in 10 to 15 percent reduction in heating costs.
