You can now earn a $500 TID rebate for replacing your existing air conditioner or heat pump with a new energy efficient model that meets the program requirements. You may also be eligible for up to a $1500 Federal Tax Credit.
Program Requirements
- New unit must meet minimum system efficiency SEER and EER standards
- Both indoor coil (evaporative) and outdoor unit (condenser) must be replaced on a split system
- Provide system efficiency documentation certificate from Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI)
- Provide a copy of finaled building permit

The program is in effect for systems installed from June 16, 2009 until December 31, 2010. The installation date is defined as the date of "final approval" by the building department with jurisdiction. Completed application must be submitted to TID within 60 days of the installation of the system but not later than January 31, 2011.
